Levels of difficulty for multiple-day tours:
Easy cycling:
Average 40 to 60 km cycling per day, mostly flat and
without long and steep ascents. Mostly asphalt roads.
Medium cycling:
Average 70 km per day with on some days climbs up to
a length of 8 km with an average of 4-5% ascending. Mostly asphalt roads.
| Cycling in Laos with kids |
Average 80 km per day with long climbs up to 23 km and with some steep stages up to 10%. Some tours on this level are 50 percent on dirt roads.
Remark for our cyclists:
On all our multiple tours, we are using a
backup car, except in Luang Prabang and Vientiane, with English speaking
guide and/or driver for luggage transport and (technical) support. As this
vehicle can be used for transfers, it’s possible to be flexible in your choice of
the difficult level of your cycling tour.
